Volatile Surface Images #2: Landscapes

The Volatile Surface Images series is concerned with the push and pull between the photographic image and digital data visualisation, between legibiity and abstraction, between three-dimensional volume and two-dimensional surface.  The images are created ‘in camera’ and post production is limited to reframing/cropping and colour balancing.

These sets of images examine how landscape as subject is affected by being held between these different image states.  The exhibition view images use a vertical flat screen TV and framed screen displaying a live augmented reality camera view to enable bodily interaction between the space and image.
